Google confirms it’s ‘combining’ Chrome OS and Android into a single platform
I’m not so surprised to hear this news, more surprised it took so long. And well, if we look at history, the record of merging desktop and mobile operating systems has always been successful, hasn’t it. Hasn’t it?
Hyper Key
Look at that caps lock key on your keyboard. Do you ever use it? Hyper Key is a technique of mapping it to a ridiculous key combination you’re never likely to naturally use to open up the possibilities for a lot more keyboard shortcuts. Why has it taken me so long to embrace Hyper Key? I don’t know, but using Raycast, I have finally given that big old key with the green light a new purpose.

My first deep dive with Apple Containerization on macOS 15.5 and how I started. | by Guillem Riera | Jun, 2025 | Medium
With every macOS release most media coverage focuses on the headline features and their positives or negatives (looking at you liquid glass), often there are more obscure, but otherwise amazing, features designed for smaller groups. The increasing native support for containerization is one such feature, and changes in 15.5 get macOS really close to not even needing 3rd party tools such as Docker.
“There’s not a shred of evidence on the internet that this band has ever existed”: This apparently AI-generated artist is racking up hundreds of thousands of Spotify streams | MusicRadar
Music history is littered with shysters, bullshit artists, and people trying to make a quick buck out of those desperate to be noticed or be cool. But now, you don’t even need a bunch of gullible people to form the semblance of a fake band. Because, you guessed it, AI and easy to trick algorithms are making it even harder for genuine talents to be noticed. Yay.
Project Indigo — a computational photography camera app
The cameras in our smartphones are packed with powerful lenses, but often the default camera apps add a lot of processing you have little control over to make an opinionated “perfect” picture. This has led to several 3rd party apps, especially on iOS that tap right into the hardware and surface pro-level controls to let you choose how a photo should look. Now Adobe joins the fray, with very much a beta app (it kills the battery), but with direct integration into their ecosystem, it could be a winner.
