Got a podcast in my pocket
Classic shows and services say goodbye, and new approaches try something new.
PS. For the older audience here, I tried to get Firefly to generate a Chinchilla dressed like the video game character “Magic Pockets”. But it had no idea what I was talking about. I’ll give a free book to anyone who sends me that picture.

Mozilla Is Shutting Down Pocket
I’ve used Pocket for years, in fact, I have a whole workflow setup that uses it to fuel stories for this newsletter. But unsurprisingly, Mozilla is shutting it down. I never quite got into Arc, despite trying to several times, and I like that they were trying something different. But it appears that being the browser of choice for all the cool kids isn’t enough of a business model, and they are trying an AI browser, because, of course, why not? The Browser Company is looking into open-sourcing Arc, and I hope they are successful, as that could be an interesting new alternative.

Sounding the Collection: Samples from the Powerhouse Museum
I visited the Powerhouse Museum once. That doesn’t make a massive amount of difference to why I’m featuring this post, I mostly enjoyed the meticulous detail about how they sampled the sound of some of the most esoteric items you could think of sampling.
